With the launch of the Nike Basketball Elite Series, footwear designers and consumers had to re-think the conventions of a ‘basketball shoe’. In what was already was the pre-eminent line of performance footwear for the sport, the Kobe VII, LeBron 9, and Hyperdunk 2011 was elevated to unseen heights, using materials such as Kevlar and Pro Combat padding to an already high-tech package of Flywire, Hyperfuse, and other mega-lightweight shell constructions. One of the eyebrow-raising elements of the Elite Series was the retail price, which ranged from $200 (Kobe VII and Hyperdunk) to $250 (LeBron 9), but a quick disappearing act from store shelves proved that consumers were ready and willing to shell out the money for the next level of Nike Basketball sneakers. A special edition tri-tiered box set was handed out to select media and released in very limited quantity at select Nike Basketball retailers like Nike Vault as well as the House of Hoops; the box itself is a harmonius binding of carbon fiber and a shimmering metallic gold, with the Elite Series slogan reading ‘Light Like Air. Those pairs are still available in Nike Store les Halles in Paris (FRANCE). The store has received few quantities but the french don't know the power of this pack , they are all focus on the Jordan shoes... Went in the stores today, owner was trying to sell me the lebron's. I laughed and said they nice, just not worth $250. I'll copp South beach just because they worth at least $450

I love the concept, but I have absolutely no use for the hyperdunks, except to use them for beaters or something along those lines. And you guys forgot about the Lebron 9 rule.... if you are going to cry about the price, then you are not suppose to post.
Kevin Durant deserves an elite shoe as well, I believe. But of course, that would jump right out of the pricepoint that he wants to attack.
all white pack would be much better. and include the elite socks and alternate color laces or something.

the designers said Durant was too picky, he kept complaining about what they came up for him, so they said forget about you, the release date is coming up. and that's history.
Durant said no to the elite series cause it would push the price past $200 and he wanted to keep the KD IVs at $95

Your broke ass dumb you buy what u like fuck waiting for price drops if you can afford now. You don't see them on 2 many feet because they 250 and every body don't have 250+ for one shoe and they went with another option.
I agree only idiots paid this much for those kicks... in 7months they will be in outlets for 79.99 Addtionally not only has NO ONE SOLD OUT ON THESE.... I HAVE YET TO EVEN SEE ANYONE FLOSS THESE yet
I have the elite 9 south beach, and the homes arrive tomorrow. Personally I love the south beach, and I liked the homes since the first time I saw them, I highly doubt they will disappoint. Have you even seen any of these in person?
Yeah buy all of them separate for like $730 and buy some more shoes instead of getting all of them in 1 freaking box and a little baggy lol
