Nike Basketball just took performance basketball sneakers to the next level when the Elite Series hit store shelves on Saturday, its already elevated price tags pushing even higher on the resale market. That means that the LeBron 9 P.S. Elite that came to market with a $250MSRP is now well over three bills on the ‘Bay, a figure that’s over three times as much as the cost of your average Kevin Durant signature. And though there’s no denying KD’s superstar status, hurdles like this have kept a possible Nike Zoom KD IV Elite at bay to this point. Beyond the pricing concerns with upgraded materials, Durant’s unique foot shape in conjunction with a lighter and thinner upper has resulted in a few samples being sent back as designer Leo Chang looks for the perfect combination of postseason tech for the three-time reigning NBA scoring champion. did anybody actually read what it says? they were sent back because of durants foot shape not working with the lightweight upper, not because he isnt "greedy like kobe and lebron".

The biggest problem I have with these Elite editions is that Nike is basically telling us that we are not getting the highest quality basketball shoes, even though we are spending 140 or 170. Whereas in earlier years, we were paying LESS but getting the highest quality basketball shoes they were making. Not anymore I guess.
i got the lebrons and i think there worth that carbon fiber is deadly
if people actually follow sneakernews and sneakers in general, then they know these aren't going to release. nike said the elite concept wasn't good for the kd's. if you don't like sneakers and are just in it to resell, then get a real job because you're wasting your time and mine.

Durant's contract with Nike says that his shoes will never go over $95. With that being said, these are going to be hard to get (if they release) due to the fact that "Hypebeasts" will hype these up as they do with any shoe that was dropped after the Concords. The shoe game is ruined because of this...

Since when does Nike put SAMPLE on the outside? I wonder if KD is mad that he doesn't get an Elite series when he's Nike Basketball like Kobe, Blake, or LeBronica. Oh and he's the freaking 3Time Scoring champ!
I doubt it...I'd has said he doesn't want his shoes overpriced...Nike probably won't make a elite for him cuz he would want it to be affordable still, and then nike won't be able to justify the lebron/Kobe price point...jus a thought

i don't think it would be dumb expensive, probably $150. and in my opinion that's why they won't release it, because everyone would want the lower priced, more attractive (open for debate) KD model
