It all started on a couch in New York City. That’s where Tinker Hatfield first saw the luxurious ostrich leather that inspired him to create Safari print, one of the more enduring aesthetic contributions from his epic 1987 ‘Air Pack’. 2012 marks that fab five’s 25th anniversary and it looks like we’ll be getting quite a few spotted tributes as the Nike Air Safari celebrates a quarter-century of success. Joining it with the traditional black/grey/orange motif is the Air Trainer 1 from whom we’ve seen a ‘Chlorophyll’ preview this year, yet this one seems like just the tip of the iceberg for what might be in store. Examine both pairs in detail below, let us know whether you’d pick the OG Air Safari over the Safari’d Air Trainer 1 and stick with Sneaker News for release info. via Sneaker Freaker
