May 12th will be one of the biggest release days of the year as the Air Jordan IV ‘Cavs’, Nike LeBron 9 Elite ‘Varsity Maize’, Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Aunt Pearl’, and four of the more enticing Jordan CP3.V colorways are set for a release. However, Nikestore has just confirmed that it will not carry any of the aforementioned products, leaving customers to vie for these high-profile kicks either in-store or at other online retailers and possibly causing camp-outs in the other spots that don’t apply to Nike’s recently-implemented Twitter RSVP system. However, this could be one way to divert its online customers to its twenty-four Nike locations and familiarize its online customers with the Twitter RSVP, but this certainly leaves those who had depended on Nikestore in a bind. As we revisit all of the recent changes in policy/procedure to Nikestore’s releases such as the Twitter RSVP and the change to the 8 AM release, what goes through your mind as something as simple of a task like purchasing a pair of sneakers becomes a task clearly more cumbersome than it was before?
Your 18 and yet you claim that youve been in this sneaker game for a long time now?!.. Like how long?? A year maybe!!.. Dont lie to yourself! True sneakerheads lived thru the moment when MJ was still playing.. U guys werent even born yet when MJ was making a name... Why not just go with your generation like Derrick rose, lebron, dwight n kobe... MJ belongs in our time not yours
Iv been a in the game for about 3 years now and im getting these lebrons and the only reason i would pay it even though i dont want to is because i want these shoes. Also id maybe pay for the retros because i dont have them, not having money when a sneaker comes out is a real BITCH!!!
I just want to say one god damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn thing why can't we all just get along and unite instead of fighting we should wait on line together hold hands embrace the moment I honestly enjoy camping out with other sneakerheads falling asleep under the stars with you guys were like brothers and we all have one thing in common collecting sneakers .....thank you for your time lol
The chase of the sneaker brings excitement to the game! If you could just walk in a store anytime, and get them it wouldn't be as fun!!! Get yourself a sneaker connect at a store, and network, so you don't have to wait in line like me! HA - 17 yr old true Sneakerhead
yall all can eat a dik , actn like nobody here is buyin any of these,, spend ur money and stfu and yes im trolling so ur comebacks actn all asshurt with yall stupid ass comments are meaningless hahahahahahaha fuk yaall pay up and live paycheck to paycheck and resell without integrity! Ebay them up and ruin collecting!!! This is the NEW way of the sneaker world! Fuck u all .... Thank you for ur time
Everything is becoming to much of an online "fad", yea the world is moving into a more virtual based world. But some things still need to been done in person, and actually see the light of day. The sneaker culture needs to be an face-to-face transaction, the sites crash all the time (nike take note), and will always happen until further notice. Just like the "Questions", it broke my heart when it said you need an "R23" account.
All I'm saying is you get certain perks when you venture out into the world and buy your threads, for example if you get a pair of kicks from online and don't like em' you just can't hand em back and request a new pair, opposed to you being in the store where you can.
Nike is creating a potent mix of supply and demand. Yes it pisses people off but it also drives up brand value because now with all these sellouts it makes retros more desirable. This still is effed cause I used to always get my size without camping cause my area of Kansas city didn't have a sneaker head in the sz8.5-9. Well with resellers some ass with size 12-13 feet from a whole nother part of town is walking out with what I wait weeks for. Can't believe this is what it came to. I used to be the only person in line sometimes
It's all a game, has the monopoly on the shoe industry, you never see adidas, reebok or vans have as much hype or sellouts in the same ball-park as Nike. Nike knows what's it's doing and, they're doing it well.
Why can't Nike just have a larger amount of inventory to release? and have the retailers sell one pair per customer? Is that too hard to do?
Come on, Nike!! Lets do away with this limited/quick strike quantity bull$hit.......it's causing enough stress and chaos as is.
Ok im new to this sneaker collectin shit. My older cousin got me hooked on collectin sneakers. He has like 40 pairs of retro Jordans. I wanna get sum retro Jordans too, but DAMN ITS HARD. THEY SELL OUT SO QUICK AND RESELLERS ARE BEING BITCHES.
ok, so on a sidenote of all this crying about resellers and such (which is really old).....
DON'T sleep on these Lebron Elites, just did my unboxing and they are pure fire. You'll regret if you pass, I bet these will top $400 easily on a the resell circuit.
i think re-sellers are the reason nike and jordan keep retroing the same shoes with very little time in between. for example, a pair of bred 11's can go for 500 dollars or even more. they came out fairly recently (i think 2008) but when JB drops them again in december the re-sellers are going to be fucked. sucks for the people who went out of their way to get the bred 11's and kept them in good shape over the years but like everyone above me is saying, the sneaker game is effed up. since the mid 2000's almost all the dope pair of j's have come out multiple times (bred 11's, cement 3's, bred 4's, true blue 3's, metallic 5's, cardinal 7's, olympic 7's, white and black 9's, altitude 13's, fire red 4's, military 4's...etc). it's a good thing for the folks that missed out on them, and the bandwagon sneakerheads who didn't give a damn about snakers a couple years ago but it sucks for a guy like me who built up my collection through the years.
How the hell should a potential buyer be THANKFUL for the resell market? If prices are on the steady incline it is BECAUSE of the reseller. If the manufacturer sees that the consumer is paying MORE for their supply because of a 3rd party seller, it is seen as a loss to them, thus making it easier to drive the prices up. This isn't NIke's fault. The fact that EVERY retro release now goes for about $250 on eBay because of the resell market, Nike will drive up the retail price.
You guys complain about resellers but you should really blame the people that buy their shoes from resellers. There are fools out there that buy retro jordans for $250 and up on ebay. I don't ever pay more than retail.. if i miss out on a pair than so be it. Resellers just try to make a profit so people that pay more than retail keep the reselling going.
If you truly think you're doing anyone a justice by giving them a "chance" to buy a pair they missed out on for over retail, you are delusional. If there were no resellers, than most people who wanted them would be able to get them. Obviously there will never be a day when nobody cops to resell, but arguing that you are doing anyone a favor or you are "evolving with the game" is just a poor excuse for a reason to make a few extra dollars at someone else's expense.
The game is evolving on its own, price points for limited sneakers are on the rise too. I could really give a f#%* about you not being able cope with change. Its no excuse its a way of life, supply & demand.
Youre part of the reason, dont make it seem like u r helping. nike does this BS on purpose and we feed into it trying to remain true But you resellers buy them up and jack thr price sky high giving noone a chance in the end if we started saying if we dont get them retail forget them the resellers will drop off.
You a reseller KILL yoself that's the reason the game f##ked trying to make it seem like you helping newbs by buying a sneaker retail and selling for a large profit nike feeds into this bulls##t and that's why we have this issue you're no good samaritan this game should be about the love of shoes not driving the price so high no one wants them anymore.
Nike needs to understand that not everybody lives near a Nike Store, There is no Nike store within 200 miles of me so to me the twitter system is useless. There's 1 mall where I live, that has 1 champs, 1 footlocker & 1 Footaction.
It's bad enough that these stores will only get the Cav 4's none will get the KD's or Lebron's.. There was 4 fights for the Cement 4 release.. & some idiot busted the gates to a store when the Black/Metallic 5's released in august.
So what do you think is gonna happen this Saturday? And nike created this twitter system to avoid what again???
i gotta co sign DJ DC & George. the sneaker game is all fucked up. re-sellers along with people that hopped on the sneaker head bandwagen have made copping shoes a living hell. most of these people weren't even sneaker heads 5 years ago. hell, they probably weren't sneaker heads 2 or 3 years ago. at this point its even hard to cop general release sneakers like the cement 4's and chicago 10's. people lined up in my city for those general releases. at this point your only options are to camp out or pay outlansish re-sell prices. the days of casually walking into a sneaker store on a friday or saturday morning and buying some dope shoes are long gone.
