Jordan Brand Clears Up Holiday 2012 Retro Price Hike

It had been reported yesterday by reputable sources that a price increase in the Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’ and Air Jordan IV ‘Bred’ would be on the way for the Holiday 2012 season. We have just learned first-hand from Jordan Brand that the yesterday’s news isn’t quite the case; the Air Jordan IV ‘Bred’ (November) will stay at a retail price of $160, while the Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’ will increase by only five dollars to an MSRP of $185. This news is certainly a sigh of relief for many sneakerheads out there, and we’re happy to be able to confirm that those prices won’t see that drastic increase after all. This news should have a lot of people resting easier, so let us know what your thoughts are now that Jordan Brand has cleared the air.

They're still raising the price to increase their profit margin to account for the extra amount of pairs they have to manufacture in order to meet the public demand that wasn't met with the Concords last year. Nike may have changed their release procedures, but there's still going to be mayhem at Foot Locker, Inc. stores across the country.

There is no price for me. I buy sneakers for quality, not quantity. I'm not saying that JB uses good quality on their shoes. I'm saying that I already have enough pairs of sneakers to last me the rest of my life so if JB made retros $300, I would buy less pairs because I would still only buy what I can afford, but I would still buy the shoes that I really wanted and didn't have yet.
