Solemart Berlin 2012 – Event Recap
Let’s continue our trip around the globe to Berlin, where Solemart made a stop this past weekend. It’s clearly dominated by the adidas three stripes, as tables and displays are rife with classic runners and vintage items that most of you probably can’t even remember, but there’s love for all brands out there as New Balance, Saucony, Nike, and Jordan all shared an equal bit of the spotlight. Sneaker events down in Australia and other gatherings in South Korea prove that the worldwide love for laces and suede is getting stronger by the year, but if you can’t see that the sneaker game outside of the States is totally different, you don’t want to miss this recap of Solemart Berlin 2012. We’ve got a nice crop of recap photos below so take a look and see if you can spot any gems that you never see in the States, and head on over to shoetown50 for a full recap of this sick event.
In Berlin, check out the store "solebox" and ask them for sneakers events ;-) or just Google it Anfang check it out...
From my hometown...nice. I really love the european style with all the ZX's Airmax 1's..., I used to buy a lot of them, too. Since I'm stationed in the US my shoe game changed a lil'...its a lil more about the Jordans now...but a main reason for that Is, the money one can make with it...I see them as an investment.
really? Says: May 9th, 2012 at 7:41 pm dude has a batman unibrow…and a pair of Mags that look 7 sizes too big for him __________________________________ Bro, let the adults talk. You obviously have no clue what the fuck you are talking about. Those shoes look like they will fit him to within a half of a size. If you want to hate on dude for the unibrow.. so be it. But just remember that he has a pair of shoes you will probably never lay eyes on. I don't like those mags either, but hating on dude for his appearance and the fact that you decided he doesn't wear a size 9.5 or 10 is just ridiculous. And this is coming from the most hated, censored, and vile motherfucker who posts on this site. Don't believe me? Ask the admins about me.
the shoegame in europe is still about individual style - not whatever jb retro is coming out next month. so if that means classic runners and unique collabs that we don't get in the states, so be it. i can respect that.
That's it in a nutshell basically. Most of the US is crazy over basketball shoes and most of us Europeans are crazy about running shoes. So for basketball shoes you're basically stuck with Nike, while every brand has runners with good silhouettes. That's the main reason our collections are more diverse I think. That said, JB gets bigger and bigger in Europe each year, and the retros are real popular, but it's mainly among the younger crowd.
Appears to be a mature adult crowd that appreciate comfortable/stylish running shoes, unlike the events in NYC. I like those Mazarines out of focus.
did we not allow them new shoe releases when we decided not to let them have nuclear weapons? #weaksauce
how do u know how big his feet are? theres no excuse for the uni but theres a lot of small people with clown feet
Don't hate on uni-brows or the uni-blocker Anthony Davis will visit you in your sleep and glue hair between your eyebrows!!!
