“Always turn a negative situation into a positive situation.” – Michael Jordan
Long-time Air Jordan devotee and contemporary artist Sergio Garcia presents ‘Heat’, a series of Air Jordan artwork printed with gunpowder. Inspired by one of Michael Jordan’s most profound quotes, Sergio embarked upon a unique collection of art bridging the Air Jordan collective and the modern art scene, using gunpowder to create these pop-art Warhol-styled pieces. Sergio points to the Air Jordan III as his favorite of all-time and even recalls the story of his first pair, but this Air Jordan ‘Heat’ is complete with other models like the Air Jordan II, VI, and much more. Check out the gallery below as well as a great video detailing Garcia’s concept and click here to purchase one of the pieces!
THIS IS SOOO DOPE!!! Watch the video. For all the kids out there, if you are in Dallas, trust me you will love the show. His work is fresh and he made these print from the heart to you. It could be your first piece of art. In person, the prints pop, metallic. Check it out!!
what is art?! anybody know the true definition? if you appreciate it, it is a piece of art. if you don't, then it is junk. that's one way to look at art.
Love IT really cool . Thats art that relates to my generation growing up. In a world full of photo shop its great he created these by hand! Then added a diffrent method of application! Bravo
I completely respect the idea of affordable art and employing gun powder as a medium to represent HEAT. But creatively, let's be honest...if anybody wants a print of a pair of Jordans in different colors, you could EASILY google a picture of a pair of Jordans, D.I.Y. in Photoshop with a couple of filters and print it on any paper at any size you want.
I love the fact that he's trying to bridge the sneaker world with the art world and doing it in a really good way.
