When Converse dropped an impressive ‘Sailcloth’ Jack Purcell just over two years ago, we couldn’t help but wonder that this was a sign from the One Star that their beloved ‘smile’-toed silhouette wouldn’t be subject to the kind of hybridization that has come to typify new Chuck Taylor drops. That proved false about six months later when the explicitly ‘decked’ Converse Jack Purcell Boat midtops touched down, and while taking away nothing from first black suede pair and the other leather editions that followed it, this pair pictured above might be the best embodiment of its concept yet. White canvas meets brass eyelets and navy details on this design set to take summer 2012 by storm; have you found a better go-to white summertime sneaker than this one currently available at Mr. Porter?
