Cortez have always been a favorite of mine despite the bad rap they get. Nice, clean comfy shoe, and a classic.

Entirely overshadowed in America by the Air Force 1’s 30th anniversary as well as 25th birthdays for the Air Max 1, Air Safari, Air Trainer 1 and others, the Nike Cortez is quietly celebrating four decades of running this year. Southeast Asian artists have come on board for the 40/40 Showcase and Art & Sole offered a unique Cortez iD pop-up in London back in March, but this pair pictured above marks the first time since they arrived on NIKEiD in January that the celebration comes stateside. This new ‘Clash Pack’ Cortez takes its simple white/black palette from the Tiempo Legend IV for this summer’s Nike Sportswear Summer Football Collection, but don’t forget this simple charm represents arguably the year’s single hottest color palette.
