Air Jordan 1 Phat “Olympic”

Michael Jordan’s participation with the Olympic ‘Dream Team’ of 1992 will be remembered when Jordan Brand releases special Olympic-inspired colorways of the Air Jordan VII (the original ‘Olympic‘ and the ‘Golden Moments‘). But did you know that his ’92 Medal was his second, not his first? Jordan played for the US National Team in ’84 before NBA pros were allowed to represent the country, and of course, later that year, Michael went on to start his career with the Chicago Bulls. While Jordan never wore the Air Jordan 1 during the Olympics, consumers will get the opportunity to cop this Olympic-themed Air Jordan 1 Phat, colored in patriotic colorways with gold-colored laces. These are really dope, No lie I think they might look better with red laces but still look alright with the gold laces.
I like the c/w, but change the laces to white and these will be copped!
And the consensus is...................... THOSE LACES NEED TO GO! Nice try jb, but red, white, and blue are olympic colors(in the US). The gold ain't catchin on. I like the shoe, but not the laces. Just like those gold medal 6s or whatever comin out in the pack with 7s. The mostly black 7s look alright but the all white and gold 6s are pretty weak in my opinion.
@Seth The difference is that the Phat 1 is intended to be used as a casual shoe or a skate shoe, so they made the tongue fatter, making the show a little bit wider.

Can someone explain to me what the difference between a regular Jordan 1 and a Jordan 1 Phat is? Thanks.
I think it has to do with the cushioning on the tongue
the tongue is a lot wider than the retro 1s
IMO the phat versions have a SB type feel to them...
