On the precipice of a weekend defined in part by its line-ups (or lack thereof), we can’t help but think of another, considerably more comfortable way for like-minded sneakerheads to gather before copping some serious heat. Following up on the success of May’s Chicago premiere engagement, Sneaker Con NYC returns for the first 2012 rendition of the original gathering that started it all. Growing crowds mean a departure from the Sullivan Street venue to one of the newer buildings on Baruch College’s New York campus. The June 30th event will feature 10,000 square feet of the best sneakers in the world, nearly a hundred vendors and thousands of sneakerheads, and tickets for the Saturday, June 30th Sneaker Con are available in advance from EventBrite. Let us know if you can make it, ‘Like’ Sneaker Con on Facebook and stick with Sneaker News for updates in the coming weeks.

Hater... dis is where da term sneaker head comes frum.. if it wasn't fa NYC cats, dudes wouldn't kno wats hot in da streets... and trust me, their are more hypebeast in suburban areas then NYC... and u probably 1 of them...

Sneaker culture started waaaaaaaay b4 Jordan's came along... u had Adidas which was top dog... as well as dr J's converse, clyde fraziers pumas & chuck Taylor's... Jordan's jus took da shoe game to a level dat no other athlete could ever imagine doin... and even b4 Jordan's u have af1s, af2s, cortez's & psuedo af1s (which we refer to as dunks today)... and if u wanna b even more real, when Jordan's 1s came out in '85, where was da launch party.... NYC with special guest spike lee.... so it jus proves NYC has been da mecca fa basketball & shoe culture..
Ok, I don't normally post but I just want to let you know you're possibly the stupidest human being to ever exist. I had to post for this one, especially because you're so set on the fact that sneaker culture was birthed in New York City. Apparently you've never heard of a man by the name of Michael Jordan, who played for the CHICAGO Bulls and revolutionized/created the sneaker game. Ignorance is bliss people...
got 2 pair of yeezys... if u need a pair, holla at me. size 11... and u cant b salty at da truth... sneakerhead culture was started in nyc. Everywhere else is jus followin. Wateva happened along da way is da big mystery.... but i work at a sneaker boutique. So access to kicks is nothin. Includin those yeezys
