Color-swap or ‘vigilante’ customs involve appropriating beloved colorways and applying them to new silhouettes, but what about simply trying something that worked on the hightop, on a low? Mache Custom Kicks’ latest custom job is based on the original Dave White x Air Jordan 1 ‘Dave White’ design from last year, one that ironically enough features more of the Olympic ‘Gold Medal’ theme than the more recent AJ1DW seen in the background of an image below. Mache’s DW design is a perfect reproduction of the UK artist’s first JB collabo, not to mention its strengths as a summer sneaker (white leather, low-cut, neck-breaking handcrafted colorway). Click through to see these up close, let us know how they compare to the original Dave White 1s as well as the best custom sneakers we’ve profiled.
