The LeBron James saga might have seen one too many ups and downs over the course of his career, but Volume I officially came to a close tonight after nine long season on a joyous happily-ever-after ending. LeBron James finally caught up with what had eluded him his entire career – a Championship trophy that would be the indisputable defining achievement for any professional sports athlete, but will the scrutiny, criticism, and hate come to a halt? Probably not, but what should come to end are the doubts of LeBron’s true elite status as one of the NBA’s greatest players in history. He scored, rebounded, passed, and defended on the level of NBA Champions of the past, and now he’s got a piece of blinged-out hardware waiting for him when the Miami Heat unveil their ’11-’12 NBA Champions banner at the opening of next season. Nike Basketball congratulates its top-flight athlete with The Ring Maker, resonating the ‘third time’s a charm’ proverb, but the wait was definitely worth it. Will LeBron James and the Heat repeat, or perhaps three-peat as NBA Champions, or will Kevin Durant and the OKC Thunder, who seem to improve every season by one round in the Playoffs, spoil that encore? Congrats to lebron I'm not going to hate its his moment real talk though I respect him but I'm not a fan. Hes more of a powerful force his game is way different than kobes and mike. Not about to join the band wagon. I like wade but being an old school fan that lived in ny during the 90s I cant stand the heat the classic fights and brawls with charlie ward pj brown the bench clearing then the following yr morning and larry johnson and all that it was just nuts to watch

This is a little over the top I respect that the dude finally won a championship but he did say he was gonna win not 4 not 5 not 6 not 7..... And so on u know Nike is gonna do its best to make the most money they can and all the merchandise it's gonna release these upcoming weeks
i guess you didn't hear the rest of his quote, it starts on "not 2" because the announcer makes a leading statement that "they came here to won not 1..." and Lebron continues "...not 7, And when I say that I really believe it. I’m not just up here blowing smoke because that not what I’m about, I’m about business and we believe that we can win multiple championships.” All I see is a guy who "believes" that his team "can" win a ring every year with those players. Usually if someone guarantees something they will use the words will or guarantee not believe and can. Ask Kobe he said the Lakers "will" win a ring this year on 3 separate occasions. China tour, radio show after they got knocked out by the Mavs and during an interview shown during the Lakers Nuggets series.

Hardly long awaited. Jordan didn't win his first championship until he was 28, and he went on to win another 5. Not saying Lebron will do this too, but it's entirely possible. All jokes and hate aside, Lebron has had an absolutely immense post season and regular season. The guy was clearly the best player all year, and by a decent margin. That's no shot at Durant either, Lebron has just been that good and KD will get his turn. Worth noting that the only people to put up similar numbers to Lebron (30+ppg and 9+rpg) throughout an entire post-season are Shaq, Hakeem and Kareem, 3 of the leagues greatest ever centres. The difference being, Lebron did it from the SF position and added 5+ assists per game on top of those numbers. I'm not even a big LeBron fan, nor a Heat fan, but watching him play throughout the playoffs has been incredible. Regular season MVP, Finals MVP, a Championship ring, and more than likely capping it off with an Olympic gold medal in July. Not a bad year at the office for Lebron.
Jordan didn't enter the league until he was 21. He won a ship in 6 years. Don't compare the 2 hommie.
Your point is? He was 21 when he entered the league because he played 3 years of college basketball before nominating for the NBA draft. Lebron came in straight out of high school, so it was obviously going to take him longer to impact the league in the sort of way that Jordan did. And it took Jordan 7 years to win a championship by the way. I'm not saying Lebron is better either. Jordan will always be the GOAT in my eyes. The man made a comeback when he was damn near 40, and still managed to put up 20+ points a night. Nobody will ever have the overall effect on basketball that MJ had.
