At any given moment, at any location in the world, an uplifting story is told through sport. Jordan Brand explored four of these stories through its Jordan Brand #RiseAbove Documentaries, beginning with an inspirational story from Iraq and continuing in Dallas, Leishan Village, and Chicago. The first leg of the Jordan Brand #RiseAbove Documentaries begins in Iraq where a worthy spotlight is shone on Laylan, a 20-year-old Iraqi girl who fights against the pressure of her country’s traditional gender roles and rises to become a leader of her all-female basketball team, surpassing the expectations of being a “stay at home” girl.
