Over the last few years, the mainstream media has been curiously exploring the sneaker culture and its rapid rise to popularity and exposure. Even CNBC, known primarily for their reports on finance and politics, dipped into sneakers as a potential investment opportunity and visited some major NY sneaker spots like Flight Club and Sneaker Con, giving the world unaware of sneakers a look into the fastest growing fashion-driven phenomenon. More recently, Fuse immersed itself into the biggest sneaker event in the city at the forefront of the sneaker movement toreport on the link between the sneaker community and hip-hop culture (a link that’s been around for decades).
