After viewing our recap of the Nike World Basketball Festival and seeing Team USA come out victorious on Monday night, the Olympic high is continuing to grow as we gear up for even more Olympic-themed footwear releases in August. The Golden Moment Pack is the one we’ve all got our targets locked in on, with the release date mayhem more than likely to go down (the Twitter rush, wristband handouts, raffles, and so on), but you can avoid all that by ponying up a few more pesos to get them in your hands early. Asics recently brought back a couple of late ’90s Gel X-Tra classics for the first time ever, their resurrection a clear indication that the Onitsuka Tiger’s other classic runners are doing better than ever before. Today we see the brand’s three most popular silhouettes ready with one style each for the Gel Saga and GT-II and two for the longtime leader and design without which arguably none of the others would exist: the Asics Gel Lyte III. Of the two most basic flavors of ice cream, candy, etc., chocolate is the one more commonly used in flavoring beef, but we’ve got one delicious slice of vanilla cowhide to share with you today. Slated to release as part of the Nike SB spring 2013 collection we previewed in late June, this Nike SB Dunk High comes through with a nappy ‘Vanilla Suede’ build featuring grainy red leather Swooshes and gum-on-gum soles. Swoosh skateboarding made a good decision eschewing the ubiquitous white Dunk midsole here for a look closer to their ’09 ‘Swoosh Life’ Blazer and you can see more of what’s in store for the SP13 release after the jump below. via N-SB

Puma teamed up to Modelo Especial and Complex Magazine for a unique custom-sneaker contest in which four notable musicians – Joell Ortiz, John West, Kevin Rudolf, and Los Rakas – were challenged with the task of creating custom pair of the Puma El Ace 2. Their final designs have been finished, but it’s up to you to decide which of the four freshly brewed creations deserve to be produced by Puma (and one of the voters will win a pair of the winning design). Nike Sportswear currently has several different ‘Infrared’ versions waiting in the wings, but ironically enough, none of them are done in the basic Nike Air Max 90 style. So while the signature colorway ushers in a few new variations on this all-timer, the classic AM90 shape is free to experiment with new palettes like the ones pictured above with premium Bamboo suede. The tonal brown plus black and white base harmonizes pink and yellow accents organically, can be seen in greater detail below and is currently available for pre-order in advance of the September release at Inflammable.

Photos from Bread & Butter Berlin revealed a new, more technical silhouette with an ‘ADV’ suffix on the way, but don’t expect Dennis Busenitz’ adidas Skateboarding signature to sit idly by, waiting to be replaced. The adidas Skate Busenitz is back with a reminder that even with all the simple yet satisfying looks it’s already offered, numerous indispensible styles like this red-accented black/white design are still out there for the taking. Recently Sneaker News got the chance to chat with Anthony Davis during the World Basketball Festival, discussing sneaker-related topics like his relationship with Nike and his favorite kicks. Part of the answer to the latter topic was ‘Foamposites’, and just a day after our short interview, he was spotted wearing the Air Foamposite Pro ‘Crimson’ while sharing a photo with guest-performer Wale (who wore the Air More Uptempo ‘Olympic’). Will Davis, who noted a possible ‘signature shoe’ during his discussions with Nike, be seen out and about with more Nike footwear now that he’s officially on their roster?
