OFWGKTA’s Vercetti is gaining notoriety across the internet thanks to his relationship with Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s daughter Tallulah, but expect another (relatively famous person who likes to ride skateboards named) Lucas to trend higher here for a spell thanks to the release of his first adidas Skateboarding signature model. The adidas Lucas Pro has the kind of understated good looks that’d compliment anything from a tanktop to a button-down, this first pair going super neutral with a royal-accented combination of grey and white riding a gum sole and golden heel branding. Let us know where these rank in the Three Stripes skate sig lineup when you’re on the other side checking out more photos and grab your Lucas Puig Pro Model from Premier.

We’d already seen its ‘Mesa’ suede build in previews dating back to June, but here’s a look at the base model defined by the intersection of the Chukka Boot and 106 lowtop. The Vans California Moc also bears a certain resemblance to Taka Hayashi’s ornate Akat LX, though these burgundy and black leather designs would be unprecedented for that historically all-suede native look. The choice of a lower profile sole and no foxing stripe makes for a clean finish that you’ll see in greater detail below, then at select Vans California retailers. via FNG

Vans is known, among other contributions to the skateboarding canon, for their signature Waffle vulcanized sole, which most often appears in white with a black pinstripe. That foxing band has been stripped out on several recent releases in favor of a ‘cleaner’ sole, though this new Vans Vault Slip-On ‘Nomad Rand’ has a little something to stand out. The nickname refers to a quilted strip stitched around the union of sole and upper, and the contrasting suede looks great against an oxford-woven upper in blue, tan or grey. Check out all three pairs after the jump, let us know which looks best and find these at Vans Vault retailers this month. via FNG

We’ve seen Snoop Dogg linked up with adidas in the past, so is the newly minted adidas Chizzle Hi a product of his influence, its nomenclature mimicking his z-embedding speech patterns? We’ll have to wait for the official word on that, in the meantime let’s take a look at the sneaker itself, a super high hitting lifestyle silhouette making its debut in a couple of sleek suede combos. Along with said suede sections patent leather is also present, sliding in throughout the connecting segments of the sneaker and up along the back to give them just a bit more of a flossy feel. Stay with us after the jump to check out the adidas Chizzle Hi in all its glory and be on the lookout for these come July 21st at partner retailers DTLR and City Gear for a cool $100.

It’s a fact that’s been obscured by the massive success of the last three Christmas drops and color trends surrounding each pair’s release (not to mention sixteen-plus years), but back when it entered the race as the third and final OG Air Jordan XI colorway, the prevailing sentiment was that ‘Bred’ was the best of the bunch, if not the single greatest basketball sneaker ever released. The black and red Eleven’s presence lingered longer than either of the white styles and it still ranks among the very best of all time, even if the culture shock we felt first seeing its patent leather mudguard has been adjusted by time and a renewed appreciation for some of Tinker Hatfield’s other masterpieces. And just like dudes could be seen wearing their ’96s toward the end of that decade, 2008′s Countdown Pack (not coincidentally, the most desired duo of the entire Collezione) is still a go-to style when sneakerheads dress to impress. The demand for this Christmas 2012 ‘Bred’ Air Jordan XI Retro figures to be in line with each of the previous releases, so be sure and stick with Sneaker News for updates and let us know if there’s anything on the horizon that has you equally excited. We’ve seen a variety of recent Vans releases opt for the soft brown leather accents commonly called ‘caramel’ or ‘peanut butter’. And with Primitive’s OTW Bedford release still up in the air, it looks like this new release from Off the Wall’s Japanese division will be the first style with the aforementioned golden touch featuring a denim upper. The Vans Era ‘Denim Pack’ brings together raw indigo and black denim uppers with vegetable tanned brown hits and a plaid-checked sockliner and should arrive at select Far East retailers shortly. Let us know how these compare to similar styles we’ve seen in 2012 and stick with Sneaker News to see if they make it stateside. via HS

Few in our niche can rival the journalistic reputation owned by Australian periodical Sneaker Freaker. During their ten years of service to the sneakerhead set, SF has leveraged that credibility for a number of superlative collaborative projects (most recently, the ‘Bushwhacker’ Saucony Grid 9000). In this case, it would seem that the brand being celebrated has even more to gain from the exposure, as recent collabo releases indicate that Pony is making a serious effort to recapture its former glory in the brand’s 40th anniversary year. The SNKRFRKR-published Pony 40 Year Retrospective reminds us that this brand supported athletes ranging from Bob McAdoo to Reggie Jackson and Spud Webb, but you’ll probably never see one on Amazon (or eBay for that matter, given the tight F&F distribution on this run). Click through for a glimpse into the latest SF-authored banger and stick with Sneaker News for updates on Pony’s 40th birthday. via FNG
