PRO-Keds have made an impact in 2012 thanks to some key collaborative efforts, including linking up with a variety of hip-hop notables ranging from veterans Biz Markie and DJ Jazzy Jeff to newcomers like Action Bronson. Their latest move finds its source somewhere in the middle, this new drop answering Nas’ questions from the Illmatic track ‘One Love’, as in “What up with Cormega/Did you see him/Are y’all together?” The Cormega x PRO-Keds Royal answers in the affirmative, hearkening back to a time when the artist remembers this silhouette as having been even cooler than the iconic Converse Chuck Taylor. But unlike the ubiquitous Chuck, you’re unlikely to ever even see a pair of these with just 50 in production worldwide. Man, I need these. As a real rap must have these along with the rest of my rap/hip hop themed shoes. I got MF DOOMS, Adidas (RIP JMJ"s & the Dookie Roped 25th Anniversary Run DMC & House Of Pain), Common's Krispy Clean Nikes, ?uestlove AF1's, and the list goes on. Man, I need these joints.
