The idea behind the Puma States is something like releasing the Air Force 1 as ‘Nike Uptown’, a nod to the street-level awareness that made this shoe a UK legend over the past half-century. It turns out to also be a hint at the state of the (lifestyle-oriented) sneaker game as well, as we see the latest round of lowtop Suedes adopt a trend whose synchronicity with the coming Chinese Zodiac suggests perfect timing on an intergalactic level. The Solebox x Puma States apply snakeskin Formstripes to sand, black and grey uppers, and a mere 100 pairs of each will be released in celebration of the Berlin boutique’s 10th birthday.
