Converse has relied primarily upon its Chuck Taylor and Jack Purcell silhouettes with a variety of other models taking up the rest of the spotlight, but could we be seeing the start of a ‘big three’, along the lines of Nike Sportswear’s Air Force 1-Dunk-Blazer triumvirate? If so, this one gets to take the last spot thanks to its resemblance, the Converse Pro Leather having debuted in 1976, just three years after that first Swoosh basketball releases. Three pairs run in the VNTG Blazer’s path, opting for simple suede+white makeups, while two leather pairs remind us how this sneaker actually got its name.
