If you’re reading this site right now chances are you’ve dealt with the questions from outsiders that pop up from time to time when it’s revealed that you’re into sneakers. Like, really into sneakers. This video spot from The Thrash Lab tracks down a group of collectors to try and delve a bit into the answer of what is perhaps the toughest question for many of us: Why? Cool video. It was really well done. That Holy Grail shop looks crazy. I liked how they had sneakerheads they have been collecting for years and they also brought up the issue of re-selling and how it impacts the game.
Not gonna lie, if I would have been able to cop a pair of Yeezy's for retail, I would have had a hard time not flipping them too. A $2000 come up is pretty nice in this economy.
It's just something about the anticipation that builds up prior to a release. The feeling you get when you log on to your favorite shoe website with more photos of the shoe (unless it is the galaxy rookies which we still don't have a damn release date for) Your own hype that you have the increases within yourself leading up to that day when you plan how you wil acquire the kicks. Release day, when you are in line or online, better when you are in line and you can't wait for the doors to open up for you to get in the store and ask for your size. You pay immediately without trying on cause that is what real sneakeheads do. Leave, sit the shoes in the fron seat like they are your date (you probably opened the door for them) Get to your crib and sit the shoes down, you sit down, unveil those joints like you have never seen them before. Take a sniff or lick em, kiss em, whatever you do and hold them in the air like 'Yeah" Got these Hoes! Then post pics and talk about em on FB, Twitter, or instagram lol.
