Air Jordan XIV Inspired Ferrari
There are a handful of Air Jordan designs from the initial Tinker Hatfield era that have had their inspiration well publicized, their overall form emulating some pretty far flung objects from lawnmowers to sports cars. The Air Jordan XIV was one of those, its shape derived from the luxurious Ferrari 550 M. This process has officially come full circle at this point, with a recent Jordan Brand event out in China featuring a Ferrari that in turn took some cues from the Air Jordan XIV, sporting a very ‘Last Shot’ looking colorway and some Jumpman touches sprinkled about. Stay with us after the jump to check out the design and let us if you think this is an upgrade to the Ferrari shown.

I've done this on Forza Motorsport with several cars, except I actually use designs from the shoe on the cars.
All they really did was put a Jumpman on the door and gold rims on it. This resembles the 14s in no way. Then the girl had on 1s soo yeah. Trashy.
Save for the Ferrari, I see this as an all-around fail.
I can't take it. Seriously, this pathetic Jordan worship is at an all-time high.
Dude's brand sells off inferior quality, poor workmanship, and higher prices to boot on his retro kicks, yet so many jock. Air Jordans were hot 10 years ago, shit, even 6 years ago when the shoes were made legit. Now they all g-a-r-b-a-g-e, fall apart, paint peels, glue stains everywhere and the sheep just KEEP ON following. Why? Endorsements? rappers/celebs/athletes (Wale? Kanye? Chris Brown? J. Cole? Drake? etc ...) who get their shit for free to post on Twitter/Facebook/Instagram to put in our faces time and time again to have it 'grow' on us. Do you think it's coincidence all of a sudden these female rappers are wearing and showing off kicks now? Hell no. Marketing & Strategy for a shitty product! It's an endless and MINDLESS loop. I honestly wish our sneaker society would wake up and see what is really what. JB and Nike is straight giving it to us because we keep buying junk, and in the process, on their way to making a $200 sneaker become the norm in tomorrow's market. Even KD couldn't hold down a sub-$100 sneaker for too long. 4 yrs was a good run, though. Let me ask, do you think those salaries in Asia changed any for the workers? Doubtful. Do the sneaker blogs help with the problem or perpetuate it? Seems to be the latter. Stop getting butt-rammed and do the ramming back. This isn't just related to the biggest offender, Nike. This isn't just Reebok ... or Puma ... or Adidas or any company in particular. This goes to all. This is our sneaker life. Boycott or it WON"T change!!
Couldnt they have used the Maranello which the shoe was based on?Its Just a f430 scuderia with a jumpman on the side..Wouldve saved 100k too
Well.....coulda atleast wore sum 14s tho.....given that they were inspired by a Ferrari.....#NoShade on the whip tho
@NuttyKicks nobody is gonna boycott with u but listen to the boy Airjordan who responded to you bcuz he makes sense. You on the other hand and ppl who complain need to find another hobby or something. Jordans are at its all time high and every flaw u named is not new at that been going on since the OG days to early retros til now. I don't see why its a problem now then we accepted it but someone startedthis quality shit and it spread like wildfire. Every asshole with a camera and jordans know quality now are you serious. Ppl only complain about the retro line not the other lines, if that is the case for u too buy the performance jordans and stop complaining bucz it won't chance rememeber this is Jordan company not yours or ours. I'm not saying I don't feel you but this shoe shit is ridiculous and out of hand. If u can start a campaign on boycotting J's then put it to used on something real like peace on the streets, feed the poor, get the economy better, food, gas, healthcare my dude real issues. These are just shoes at the end of the day no matter how much of a sneaker head we are but there's far more important shit then this. Its easy stop buying nike/jordans, stop coming to sneaker websites and focus on something else. Thing is u can't and so many like u, talk shit about them but still get caught up in the hype buy them and shoot a vid on how trash they aree when all u have to do is stay at home and find something productive to do. I hope u get my drift and many others too, please remember its no hate at all I got love for all the sneak community
@NuttyKicks get your facts straight. Wages in China are going up 30% a year for the next 3 years in addition to benefits etc. Raw materials are on the rise and do you honestly expect to pay the same price for shoes as you did 6 years ago? Is a movie ticket the same price it was 6 years ago? How about your cable bill or cell phone bill? If the price is too high for you as it is for many, that's understandable, but this is what's called economics.
@npt & the 575 is a better looking car. yea, I said it!
@hozezae @NuttyKicks Well, good points. Thing is, this is a sneaker site, so I'd thought I start with sneakers first but jobs, gas, and health care are definitely big issues. The main problem with higher prices and lower quality is because of statements like this, "I don't see why its a problem now then we accepted it."
Yeah, we accepted it, but, we don't have to keep taking it and taking it. It keeps on going ... prices rise, quality decreases. When a quality retro Jordan shoe is made, it has a very limited production run and is sold at select locations. Those releases don't fill JB's pockets. It's the normal, everyday kicks that aren't even retros. I see them all the time. Cheap sneakers with a Jumpman on them. Half the people that buy them think they're 'Air Jordans' but they're not. That's how brain-washed our uninformed sneaker clientele is now.
And now the retros. Yes, a lot of Jordan heads know there are issues with quality and are aware of rising costs but yet keep buying without hesitation. That's exactly the mindset that boggles my mind. JB and Nike got people wrapped around their fingers, ready to jump at a moment's command. The internet and HYPEmen (Wale, Kanye, Drake, Fab, Chris Brown) and HYPEwomen (Rihanna, Kim K, and more I can't think of now) get you looking at shoes on their feet to show how much 'swag' they got. We never saw the women, now we do. Look at Reebok using the same strategy with Rick Ross, Alicia Keys' husband, and Tyga. Think about it. And sneaker blogs don't help the issue at all but instead keeps reinforcing the problem like an endless loop. Show pics to get attention. Hype shoes to get attention. Show pics of shoes on celebs/athletes/rappers to get more attention. Attention = Hits = Money. Rewind 3 years, we didn't see so much focus on other people wearing shoes except on WDYWT posts. Now we get a celeb sneaker stalk a day, and all the blogs have one now. I honestly feel these sneaker companies prey on the sneaker community because those companies know they can get away with it. After all, we've already accepted it. That was already stated.
Look, I'm just one man. The adage is still there and has been undefeated throughout time. STRENGTH IN NUMBERS. U.S. Bank thought they could get away with adding a $5 fee per month for debit card holders, but quickly changed their tune after 3 weeks of media pressure and threats of boycott from thousands of people. Yes, the target audience is different (and perhaps cares more) but the concept remains the same. Make your voice be heard by fighting back with unopened wallets. If we don't resist and push back now, this sneaker company experiment is just going to get worse for us.
@Airjordan @NuttyKicks I see what you're getting at, but I never claimed to know the wages, only speculated. And yes, those wages should increase -- across the board -- for all the hard-working people that produce our gadgets, trinkets, and other products the world loves. That's only right. My point is we don't need so much of a price hike and not every damn year, at that. Let's talk about the beloved XIs. Started at $125 back when. Better made, great shape, amazing shoe in '95/'96. Skip forward when the Space Jams came out in 2009, it was $175. Infinitely inferior to the original in every way. Even the sizing was off. Then cool greys jumped to $180. Concords $180. Now Breds $185. And for what? Less patent leather, cheaper feel, less padding, twisted Jumpmans, etc ... And we can expect same thing next year with the Columbias at $190. Foam 1s jumped from $200 to $220 in one year! Ridiculous.
Movies - in 3D, iMax, iMax 3D, surround digital sound. Cable - broadband internet, HDTV channels, DVR service. Cell - 4G data, unlimited text&talk, reliable non-analog service. Point is, I have zero issue with paying higher money for a better, QUALITY product and/or experience.
@NuttyKicks @hozezae just buy a different like I did i wear new balances imo they are better quality and comfort and all tht I didnt miss a thing from not purchasing jordans or nikes cuz i realized hypebeasts will cause them to release em again and again cuz nike/jb ran out of ideas, thts why they have these contest thts why jb gets most of their money off retros and nike is recycling old designs (backwards swoosh on LBJ x= air darwin and etc) plus ima senior in highschool im surrounded by sheep and now others wear new balance but i have college to look forward to so i care less and less about what shoes i can purchase b/c 1) the man makes the shoe not viceversa and 2) when i bust my ass to be successful in my major when i get out ill be able to buy all the shoes i missed out on so let the hypebeast or whoever purchases have their fun cuz alot of them arent goin any further than mcdonalds shifts....... The pic sucks cuz they arent wearin 14s lol
