Carmelo Anthony returned to his birthplace in the middle of the 2010-11 NBA season, so Jordan Brand took the opportunity to shake things up with his seventh Jumpman signature. The Melo M7 Advance and Future Sole represented the addition of Flywire and a guest designer, respectively, and now we some of this tinkering recombined and twisted into the next Advance release. The Jordan Melo M8 Advance trades Kevlar strands for a Hyperfuse-style laminated mesh, and the ‘Legion of Doom’ colorway in particular indirectly references a future where copyright law is applied as inconsistently as gasoline is available. That WWE-inspired design is joined by a more traditional Knicks ‘home’ look and another Chicago-style design created in tribute to Anthony’s Red Hook section of Brooklyn; might a Taz(z) colorway be on tap as well? Stick with Sneaker News for more on both the Jordan Melo M8 Advance, where it fits in with the Flywire-ribboned Melo M9 and the apparently still growing Jordan x WWE collection (an ‘inspired’ pack or true collaboration?), and check out more photos in the meantime.
