The NBA 2K series has been the default leader in basketball videogames since EA’s NBA Live/Elite series went AWOL, but for serious fans of the series, it’s been equally indisputable for fourteen straight seasons. The 2K Sports team has been gradually increasing the level of detail with each release with sneakers in particular having been a major focus in recent years, and now for the latest round, the developers added a feature that really makes each pair come to life. By allowing a more apparent contrast between materials like suede, patent leather and metallics, 2K13 offers a more immersive experience and makes us wonder how long it will be before Kinect, Wii and PSEye will be able to recognize what you’re wearing and adapt accordingly.
