Vans California Chukka “Guate”

Sneaker packs and other nicknames offer a helpful way of remembering our favorite releases, but there are a select few instances when the nomenclature just adds to the confusion. Somewhere in the middle is a release like Vans California’s latest, a model whose name does indeed describe its construction, but was also used earlier this year on another style. And to add to the confusion the Vans California Chukka ’Guate’ utilizes a different pattern altogether from June’s ‘Guate Stripe’ Authentic release, though both do indeed accurately reflect the look of traditional South American loomworks. This one’s on tap for a fourth quarter release and you can see more after the jump below; how do they compare to the impressive range of patterned styles we’ve seen from Off the Wall this year (or last year’s ‘Nordic’ Chukka CA, for that matter)?

Guate, aka Guatemala, is in central america, right below mexico. just fyi.
