If you mentioned a ‘Nike Backboard’ to a sneakerhead, they’d probably call to mind images of a sick custom setup like Joe Johnson’s absolutely epic sneaker closet. That name also corresponds to an affordably priced casual offering with classic basketball styling that was sufficiently successful as to spawn a sequel debuting here today. The Nike Backboard II has a look somewhere in the Court Force–Challenge Court–Air Royal neighborhood, its understated lines a clear throwback to a simpler time in sneaker construction. This first Signal Blue edition gets some extra help from textured Swooshes and ankle collars, and you can see more angles of the initial offering below before you grab them from Nike Sportswear stores like Oneness.
