Nike LeBron X “Silver Surfer” Customs by Mache
October 8th, 2012 by John K. | 8 comments

It’s obvious that Mache Customs had a busy Columbus Day weekend because we’re unveiling not one, but TWO spectacular custom designs. He’s moved on from the LeBron 9 and graduated to the LeBron X with the jaw-dropping ‘China’ a few days back, and now hits us another superhero inspired design using the ‘Blue Diamond’ color-scheme to his advantage. He combines the blue upper with shades of a titanium silver while adding a vignette of Silver Surfer on the heel of the shoe, transferring the icon from that tiny triangular window to the spine of the heel. Check ‘em out below, because these are outstanding!

As always Concept and execution = FATALITY

"Nike take some notes!" No, shut the fuck up. Nike has professional colors and materials people. There are trend catalogues that come out before each season that determine the colors and patterns that will be "in" for that season. There's a system, it's not about airbrushing or copying existing color ways and repurposing them on another shoe. This guy is a great custom artist, but is he a Nike caliber colors and materials expert? Probably not.
@DominicD but.... all of his customs look better than most legit colorways so there.
@isAisAisA Don't act like you made a point. 90% of his customs are legit colorways, i.e. colorways already made popular by other Nike models. Nike color and material designers could repurpose existing colorways all day if they wanted, but the reason they do there job is because they are trying to think what will be the next classic colorways.
@DominicD I like when people know what they are talking about, taught me a thing or 2
@DominicD chuuuurch
