Air Jordan XVI – Ray Allen “Gold” PE – Closer Look
October 31st, 2012 by Brendan Dunne | 9 comments

Ray Allen‘s long awaited debuted in some PE sneaks out in Miami was a pretty severe curveball for most of the sneakerhead scene, opting out of the anticipated red and yellow shades for this special Air Jordan XVI ‘Gold’ player exclusive that kinda mimics the ‘Year of the Rabbit’ theme. Sugar Ray kept the shroud on for most of the game and took it off momentarily, but overall this on-court Air Jordan XVI action reminding many of us how slick the underrated silhouette can be. Let’s keep in mind that when both those Air Jordan VIII and Air Jordan XIII ‘Ray Allen’ PEs were released in limited numbers, the model itself was heavily released around that time. Does this point to an Air Jordan XVI re-issue soon? Click through with Sneaker News for some up close shots of the sneakers and let us know in the comments where this pair ranks for you in terms of all time Ray Allen Air Jordan PE’s.

I don't like the 16s or 19s im koo off these comin back
Yea the guard must of fell off the shoe while he was playing. Pretty pointless to have it on the shoe if you cant wear it. Shouts out to My man Ray Allen "Jesus" lmao he went Ham for his first game.
i remember having the 16 when they first drop will deff cop if they retro again.
I wonder if rocking the gaiters on the opposite foot keeps them on? Cause they always seem to fall off when i wore my pair.
Im tired of seeing these already. Sneaker news yall act so desperate soetimes to generate hype. These ray's are ok but not enough to were you showing them 3 times a day move on to sonething else now
@hozezae It should be over hyped because these shoes are dope! Hands down.
@raybanner i respect your opinion but still no shoe needs to be hyped to the point is where its 3 times a day. These will never drop so i dont care but i would like the see the 16's retro finally come to light
Under rated shoe. they need to release these ASAP tired of the same rotation
