Nike Sportswear’s lifestyle offerings are usually derived from existing basketball, running or casual styles, but here’s a case where we’re left wondering which are the influences behind its novel design? The Nike Trainer Clean Sweep sounds at first like it might be a cross-trainer, and from the looks of the extremely high silo with its unique tongue, maybe it could even be a wrestling/boxing-oriented choice. But you can’t deny the Air Force 1/early ’80s basketball influence in the overall design and especially the sole (its traction pegs akin to the AF1 Duckboot). This first black, Russet and Dark Grey pair has unlimited potential for the cold-weather months and is available now at Swoosh retailers including NikeStore.
