You wouldn’t typically think of a pair of scissors being the only tool necessary to create an all-time classic sneaker design, but that’s the case for the Vans Half Cab, a model that improved upon the original Steve Caballero signature three years in and has remain untouched ever since. It took two decades before Off the Wall even attempted a fresh take on the Half Cab and now as the XX Anniversary celebration comes to a close, we’re ready for the silhouette’s next generation. The Vans Cab Lite builds on the momentum of what Vans themselves call “the greatest skate shoe of all time”, launching with a November 9th meet and greet also featuring longtime OTW rider and Syndicate contributor Christian Hosoi, at London’s Slam City Skates. The party might be a tough ticket for those outside the UK, but since today is the official release date, you can already get the Cab Lite from Slam City.
