Recent Air Max 1 previews for 2013 show how Nike Sportswear can transmute the VNTG-ish off-colored midsole into a ladies-only look, and now here’s a slightly different application on its immediate successor in the NSW rotation. The Nike Air Max 90 for women features a distinct pale yellow tone on the eyelets and Air bubble frame that’s reminiscent of the classic Vintage oxidized look but without any of the irregularities the most pronounced of those pairs have carried. Coupled with a high-contrast colorway featuring pink and purple accents, these have a golden era vibe that you can’t quite put your finger on in terms of direct influences, and that’s part of why they’ll be a quietly solid performer upon releasing at retailers like Inflammable this December.
