The sneaker scene continues to be infatuated with all things surrounding the Nike Mag 2011, that legendary Back to the Future sneaker that actually was made available last year via eBay charity auction. Customizer El Cappy has crafted the latest iteration of that look, styling up a Nike LeBron 9 with that silvery grey colorway. Not stopping there, he also outfits the back bubble with some LEDs and puts the whole package in a vibrant yellow box. Stay with Sneaker News after the jump to check out this Nike LeBron 9 ‘Mag’ custom by El Cappy and let us know if you’d rock these in the comments.

I like these shoes even without the lights and the Mag box. The 9s are such a clean sillouhette

It actually looks like the customisation process is not completed yet. When i thought of it i also miss the strap on the upper side of the shoe, which he could have borrowed from the standerd white straps from the nike air force 1 mid. He could have taken a heel guard from a laser blue air max 90. And the heel guard of a air max skyline in white to sew the strap on the shoe. No disrespect but other from the leds this is a lazy custom.

The only thing i'm missing is the heel guard if you call it that. You know what i mean the blue plastick part on the heel with the letters of NILE MAG on it. That's actually my favorite part of the shoe. I"m really missing it here, now it's just a grey lebron 9 with a speckled sole and ledded air bubble. What a pity it could have been mindblowingly cool. He could've at least made the white eyelet part blue so that it would made up for color balance. Other than that they're perfect.

@JulianScott Jealousy is an ugly colour no matter what skin tone, Great job here.  And no Hypebeasts to contend with like the originals. Hopefully the 2015's with power laces will just be a GR.

@caseyflinders Im sorry but you have me confused I am not jealous of Mr. Cappy I just dont think the custom looks good Ive seen his other work which I have also liked and disliked I thought his south beach 6s were great I dont paint shoes I dont make customs how can I be jealous of art that I myself couldnt even create I just dont like it. Why is it we always assume an oppinion as HATE. If people have the right to like do they not by deffinition have the right to dislike as well.

@JulianScott  @caseyflinders I agree with you Julian Scott.

You're right, it's almost if you're forced to like em by some people.

Ridiculous, they arent as cool as they could have been.
