This Air Jordan 1 was one of the featured sneakers in a Sneaker News: Was It The Shoes? segment a few weeks back. We recalled one of Michael’s most memorable ‘Retro’ moments, when he broke out the White/Red/Black Air Jordan 1 High in 1998 as a special treat for New York fans (he thought it would be his last game at the Garden). Jordan doesn’t have a come-back in mind, but who do you think would rock these in a game today? Nate? Monta? Check out these new shots of this highly-anticipated 2013 Retro below and let us know if these OGs are a must-have for you.

Why r ppl crying over the quality on these. 1st they r samples. 2nd if u dnt like them then dnt buy them. I thought ppl would be happy cuz they r releasing these OG retros but if it aint the Nike air logo ull cry over the quality
stahp complaining. u think ur comments cant deter ppl from what they will buy (hopefully). these and the royals looking wavy
Yall complaon so much but yall gone be in line. And OGKJackson nike is over it they supply jordan brand. They both nike &jb use the same materials
Damn, even by Jordan brands standards the quality on these look horrible.
I really wish Nike would take back control over the Jordan brand line, It would be the only hope in getting decent retro Jordans like the ones done in 94 and 2000.
@cavematt People are bitching over the quality of these cause the quality is terrible. I don't give a shit if it is an original color way or not, if the quality is shit I will not buy. I have far better things to spend my hard earned coin on than some plastic retros.
There is no focus on quality any longer @ JB, not when they can produce shit like this and damn fools will camp out for days on end. Why would they?
Finally someone whom works for Nike and JB dropping the Knowledge.Damn glad you showed set me straight.
Maybe you can take a couple of questions back to some of those higher up in the ranks than you are for us?
If Nike is "over" JB as you say, why cant we get NIKE AIR back on the II,III,IV,V,VI retros?
Also, why were the retros in 94 and 2000 made of far more superior quality materials than the ones made today?
lastly, why are the "same materials" that are used of $49.99 Nike dunks seem far more superior than what looks to be plastic used on the Air Jordan I retros shown here?
@hozezae Ironic isn't it? Just watch as these vanish into oblivion smfh.
@OGJackson I assume ur into kicks but this day in age all shoes in all major brands who produce shoes look plastic. U buy foams right, lebrons, kobes, j's, huyperfuse, nikes, reeboks adidas, etc.. There all like that theres no more thick leather on shoes unless there an premium edition or something. Its about lightweight now not heavy shoes. JB does make quality shoes yall trippin on retros look outside of those but I forgot yall dont cop those. Nike supplies JB bro and charge 220 for kicks thats plastic like but its ok but yall diss jb for charing 160 seriously. Look up the innovation kicks of today and 90% of them dont use the same material from the old ages. That shit.back then is outdated and why in 21st century would u want some old as materials for
@OGJackson Do u really think that the quality back then was always good? Thats the biggest bullshit there is. Some retros today have good quality and others dont just like back then. For ur information the 1st retro 1 OG had great quality but didnt even sell good they rereleased them for like $20 at kmart and sold terribly and that was good quality u think they loved losing profit obviously they went for cheaper quality
@OGJackson how is it u can say they use the lastest and greatest materials on the newer shoes and its all synthetic, but u rip jordan bcuz he does the same on his retros. You'll pay 220 for plastic and get upset over synthetic j's for 160. You realize the 80's & 90's are gone right, economy is different everything went up, cost of living. If jb use premium leather today on retros what more could u do in it then u can do in todays jordans or lebrons, absolutely nothing. Gas was 59 to 69 cent then hell maybe cheaper. Look at it now gas is 4.00 dollars, u telling me that 60 cent gas.is more quality then todays gas, fuck no. Yall have to leave that shit alone about shoes being cheaper then and higher quality and todays shoes is cheaper low quality. If u had that premium leather today on every jordan you loking to pay 250 for retros bcuz nike has to make a profit
Holy shit, mother fucking captin god damn obvious has stopped by to throw his two cents in on the subject.
Obviously, newer models of lebrons, kobes, j's, huyperfuse, nikes, reeboks adidas, etc..lebrons, kobes, j's, huyperfuse, nikes, reeboks adidas, etc.., will use the latest and greatest materials on their current models, which had absolutely nothing to do with the conversation @ hand.
But, you did hit the nail on the head about one thing, "There all like that theres no more thick leather on shoes unless there an premium edition or something."
This is my main point, quality is shit until they tag it with "premium edition or limited edition". Then they produce in limited quantities and then charge the end user with a premium price tag, which is a better mark up for them on the total profit margin.
@OGJackson when u said there is no focus any longer u implied there was always focus on quality back then. The retros back then used the same material as when they 1st released cuz they werent as big as today. They didnt have billions of jordans everywhere so they risked it starting frm the bottom with quality hoping 2 make a profit kinda like the 1st xbox. Now its not that they dnt care its just that they know ppl will buy retros no matter what n only put great quality on some retros not every retro cuz then they wont make a huge profit like the retro 11 this year has great quality so does the retro 4 bred but the 4 thunder not so much only certain retros have the great quality each year its always been that way
Never did I say quality back then was always good, Hell there was no such thing as B grades. If you got a pair with extra glue on it, better ask to see another pair. Leave the shit pair for someone else to buy.
I see you recall the 1 OG not selling well, as do I. Sitting on the shelves of Footaction marked down to $20 and they still could not get rid of them. This was also the case for the II, II low and both IIIs that released around the same time. This was due to NO one being in the retro game at the time, Which did not take off till the IV,V,VI being released in 99 and 2000.
The IV,V,VI were released with the same materials as when they first released, still sold. Nike lost nothing on these, Hell they even made a profit. So you claim here as to reason they went with lower quality is mute.
Reason they keep churning out sub par quality is people drink their kool-aid no matter what they throw at them, Just like people will line up for these Air Jordan I rain boots.
