Air Jordan “Black” Collection

The Air Jordan XX8 was the unparalleled highlight at the Jordan Brand media event, but there was another set of sneakers also drawing the attention of every sneaker minded media person present: the Air Jordan ‘Black’ collection. The pristine set-up included Air Jordan models 1-2012, each done in “murdered out” all-black style (a natural extension of the Air Jordan XI ‘Blackout’ that we’ve seen previously). We’ve seen plenty of Air Jordan Legacy Collections done in uniform style – the ‘Georgetown’ set and the White/Red ‘History of Flight’, but the story behind this ‘Black’ set ties in perfectly with the event.
An empty space was left open next to the Air Jordan 2012 – clearly a spot for the soon to be unveiled Air Jordan XX8 – for the next of kin in the most respected signature sneaker line in history. The theme of the XX8 is the Stealth fighter jet, which makes the tonal-black arrangement of Air Jordan 1 through last year’s 2012 the perfect platform to showcase the extension of the Air Jordan legacy. I think this display is truly the way to evaluate what Jordan u like. Nothing to influence u. Crazy colorways. Just the shoe design. Love BLACKOUT display
Only ones that look decent are the 5's and the 11's.

@custom That's why we loved the black nubuck ones back in the day and didn't like the white ones. White leather creased but you could wear the black nubuck for a year and they still looked fresh.

The leather on this look superb. Too bad if they release they'll be plastic like all retros now.

3,4,5,and 11 are dope I feel like the 6s would have looked better in all black suede or nubuck tho

Boring. These remind of when I was little, and my dad would have me pick out some cheap all black shoes for school. I didn't really care about the design then. They just had to be all black, and thats how I feel about these. No colors= no style.
6s,7s,8s, look wack w/o color....but made the 15s and up look alot better. If JB took a couple years and just released all of them by a pair a month with the good leather that would be dope. Only downside is JB would prolly charge 300 a pair.
The 5s are the sickest! Wish these would release since I couldnt copp the Bins and now they are rape! 12s look bad too!

I like the 15's, 16's, and 2010's the most out of these. 11's are nice too I suppose. Kinda feel that most Jordans are just meant for the multi-colored look anyway.
The photos are out of order. The Air Jordan 23 should be before the Air Jordan 2009. I swear, every time there is a collection like this, either one shoe does not get photographed or the order is messed up.

funny how the black out 11s had a clear ice sole, when the pairs we've seen on ebay are a translucent black

Cuz Nike is cheap! Less profit for them! Plus shoes would last longer and they dont want that

I'm sure a lot of people would love these. I'm not a fan of the black leather though. It's everything the original designs for the AJ 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 were not. Those durabuck classics ate up light, making them look so stealthy.

I like the 9's, 13's and the 16's the most. The blacked out leather 8's don't look too good to me.
