Trivia time: what was the first shoe that Michael Jordan wore as a Chicago Bull? If you answered “Air Jordan 1” then you’re mistaken-it was actually the Nike Air Ship. Now that you’ve got that bit of sneaker trivia tucked away in your mind take a look at a vintage pair of that shoe with us. Pictured here is an OG Nike Air Ship from 1984, the pair preserved pretty well in its nearly thirty year journey. Better yet it’s a red and white colorway that MJ did indeed rock back in the day. My older brother had these when we were growin up... I was 4 when these dropped... still a great lookin shoe
@Da_Real_Big_Infinite funny sounds like we r about the same age then and most likely saw the same shoes growing up on older siblings. To me sneakers are like a time capsule. Every time I hold one of my retros it takes me back for a minute to a random memory in the past while growing up involving that shoe.
@Lilmr81 u ain't never lie homie... da 80s is when da sneaker culture started to unfold... I had 2 older brothers so I would see these, da old puma classics dat Clyde Frazier use to hoop in. Dr J's converse & later magic & birds converse... original af1, af2s, Cortez, huaraches, adidas top tens & low cut superstars when they were 29.99. Cuz 30 bucks sounded too much back then lol... so I alwayz Seein all these look backs at a time when sneakers were top notch & weren't so much chaos in tryin to purchase them
