Clash of the Kilroys

December 9, 2012 BY / 9

0.00 / 5 (NO VOTES YET)

The Air Jordan IX went heavy on the retro treatment in 2012, with ten pairs in total making their way to shelves. The majority of those fell into the Air Jordan IX ‘Kilroy Pack’ designation, a six sneaker set that played off the classic “Johnny Kilroy” ad campaign for the original Air Jordan IX. The sneakers hit on nearly consecutive weekends over the span of a couple months, most of them selling out rather quickly. Chances are pretty good that you didn’t plop the near $1,000 to pick up the entire pack, so which ones made it into your rotation? Now that the dust has settled, which pair stands above the rest for you? Click through with Sneaker News for a look back at each pair in the Air Jordan IX ‘Kilroy Pack’ and vote for your favorite from the group at the very end.

Johnny Kilroy

The Air Jordan IX ‘Johnny Kilroy was the first of the set to release, getting the ball rolling with a black and platinum colorway and the alternate ‘#4′ hit on the back.

Fontay Montana

The Air Jordan IX ‘Fontay Montana’ was the second ‘Kilroy Pack’ pair to release, sporting a vague New York Knicks looking colorway and a ‘Gulls’ logo hit on the inside as the associated team.

Bentley Ellis

The Air Jordan IX ‘Bentley Ellis’ was the third Air Jordan IX ‘Kilroy Pack’ release, the colorway landing the closest to the Cavs as far as any NBA connection goes.

Calvin Bailey

The Air Jordan IX ‘Calvin Bailey’ came to us on November 10th, featuring a heavy dosage of contrast stiching and a royal/gold combo on the upper.

Slim Jenkins

The Air Jordan IX ‘Slim Jenkins’ was the penultimate pair, one of two black and blue Air Jordan IXs to release this year, with a sort of reverse take on the OG ‘Powder Blue’ look.

Motorboat Jones

The Air Jordan IX ‘Motorboat Jones’ was the final ‘Kilroy Pack’ release, and the one no doubt embraced the most by the NBA set, with players like Lamar Odom, Nate Robinson, and Monta Ellis rocking them to date.
