On Friday, Sneaker News launched our annual Sneaker News Top 30 list, detailing the most compelling and significant footwear-related stories of the year. Narrowing it down to thirty choices was a tough task, but we don’t intend to leave any of 2012′s top releases out because it’s time for you, our faithful readers, to let us know what you thought were the best sneakers of the year. We’ve narrowed it down to twenty-one categories with some difficult choices to be made, so take a look below and be sure to vote. Winners to be announced this Friday.

Well NIKE is the leading sneaker brand. Other brands have retros that people demand, so that category makes sense.
Being that we had the games this year it should have been a "Olympic Shoe Of The Year" poll because to not see the Olympic 7's up here is extremely disappointing
The Olympic VIIs was cool but I don't think they'd win even the Olympic category

Must haves of next year the 5's but the paranorman shouldn't have been on the list it didn't actually release same with the supreme dunk lows and all the others that only came out in one store atleast the galaxy came to all 50 states a lot of these I couldn't even try to get

When it comes to Most Anticipated 2013 Release I chose the 5's. I'm copping the 3's but I'm not anticipating it more than the Grapes even though they are my grails at the moment.

To me, the best release this year was the Lebron 9/9elite championship pack. Lbj got his 1st ring and 3rd Mvp making this pack a big part of history in the sneaker culture and in sports.

most of them were hyped up sneakers and can easily tell which would be the #1 choice everyone chose, but other you really had to think about. had to make tough decisions.

Those CNCPTS x New Balance 999 'SEAL just might be the best colorway of all time
great job overall SN but a couple of categories were garbage..best coalb of the year is hands down the Concepts 999..and also best sig shoe was Lebron 9 Elite but you put the stupid way of wades on the list instead of one of the best Sig models ever..no way wades shoe should have made this list to vote on over the Lebron 9 Elite and KD V..just my opinion but Way of Wades dont deserve to be on over those two.

they put bred 11s in the poll with actual good quality shoes smh if the wc4s dont advance ppl are stupid

@DesmondDiggaDezDavis all of the shoes in that category are synthetic materials except the yeezy's, so how can shoes like the flynits or lebrons have good quality, good craftsmanship but not quality.
