2012 was everything an Air Jordan fan could ask for. Along with all the great releases covered in the Sneaker News Top 30, like the year-long celebration of the Air Jordan IV, the Olympic-inspired releases, and the comebacks of two previously un-retroed originals, the vast selection of Air Jordans to hit retail kept us on our toes on a consistent basis. There were plenty of great releases that deserve some of the year-end spotlight, so before Jordan Brand begins its eagerly awaited 2013 campaign, we’re taking a look back at some of the brightest highlights of the star-studded year that just wrapped up. everybody hating on the filberts... they belong on the list maybe at the bottom but they beling... what gets me is the 11 lows made it and not the Olympic 7s... the bred XI's are where they should be anyone who has them higher is truly a hypebeast... like homie @mike0811 said they havent been released since 99... while the 11's dropped 3 times since then
Black cement 4's should've been second or first and the same with the black/red 11's....couldn't go wrong with neither one!

They messed up on those obsidian 12's those didn't sell well I got a pair at a Nike outlet for $130 the order is o messed up on here lol

@kingofSoles son u wouldn't know what a classics is been in the game a longtime n just stating the fact most the people here saw that shoe on we got plug cork for $130 at the outlets n it was badly made I had a pair n sent it right back like many others did I have the playoff 12's too n those were way better n just cause I don't like a shoe u like doesn't make me a hypebeast ur one just for saying that

I'm suprised the white cement iv's were number 1. I was expecting the bred iv's or bred xi's to be #1.

I agree 100% with number 1. I honestly thought the bred xi's would be 1 but I'm pleased to see sneakernews staff have a very similar taste 1-23 as I do. I would change a few places but over well done sn.

@GreedyEaly the thunders almost define hype!! It's a black and yellow 4 in limited quantities. Every limited professional football team cw will be hype period.

@GreedyEaly Just no, wayyy to much hype around Thunders especially since that's a garbage CW. And it doesnt matter how much hype were around the Bred's b/c they released 500,000 pairs.
As usual the Playoff 12's are ranked way too low. The Bred 4's need to be number one. And the J2K 7's shouldn't even touch this list.

Agreed. Both are clean, but I remember pics of Jordans in the breds. I'm sure there are pics of him in the cements, but its also not a bulls cw. Although the most important difference to me is one of function. The WHITE cements are just gonna get dirty way quicker than the breds, and I hate when I can see my white laces getting dirty. No the breds will wear better IMO.

Honestly I used to love Jordans so much, but now he is retired and I'd rather rock a pair of Lebron's that come in some many new different raw a$$ colors. I'm so tired of seeing new people that have no clue about the man's shoes they are buying, and spending their parent's hard earned money on! Hypebeasts can go to heck, which is why this blog is stupid anyway. They make these shoes so crappy and cheap now a days and charge 20-40 extra dollars for them, I call robbery! But after all this rant I just had to get off my chest, I think Olympic 7's needed to be on here as long as they were lower then Olympic 6's, and Gold Medal Pack, Kilroy Pack, J2k 7's, DB 9's should have been in top 5

Motorboat Jones should have been lower. Olympic Pack 6/7 should have been higher. Cool Gray 9 should NOT have made it. Olympic 7 should have made it. I agree with top 3, however bred 4 should switch with cement 4 as no1. Thats just my 2 cents.
@Shaded Olympic 7's have been retroed way too many times. So why should they be on the list?

Where's the J2K 1's??? Those shoes were one of the most detailed and most dope shoes I've seen come out of the JB for years! The combination of nubuck, tumbled, smooth and patent leathers and a sweet dust bag..... Really SN?

@powder245 I wasn't wrong. They were a pair, the "original" pair that came on the scene in 2010. And even when I realized they did come out, again, I acknowledged that.....like a grown man. Don't be upset with me because the shoes you paid over $100 for can now be found in a discount outlet lol. You took the first shot at me. Don't be mad cause I shot back lol. And as far as me buying what's hot, I buy what I want with the $$$ I earn. Give a damn about what's hot or not. But the bottom line is the J2K's are ass butter that you use to slide in your skinny jeans with. But like you said, to each his own
