The latest basketball shoe to cross over into the skate market is an unexpected surprise. The adidas Skateboarding Americana traces its roots all the way back to 1971, a year before Nike was founded. Interestingly enough, though, the Americana was a cupsole design while its roundball contemporaries like the Blazer were fixated on vulcanized bottoms. This new release goes with an autoclaved bottom for an emphasis on the vintage look along with added boardfeel, and you can see the trademark two-toned Stripes among other details after the jump before you grab a pair at select retailers including DQM.
