A major development to have spilled out in early 2013 is the news of the scrapped plans of an Air Jordan XVI Retro. Originally intended to arrive Fall 2012, the Air Jordan XVI was created in various sample forms, like this White/Midnight Navy colorway inspired by the original. The most notable discrepancy between these 2012 Samples and the ’01 Original is the toe-box, which has been switched from patent leather (the XVI was inspired by the XI) to a synthetic material with a matte finish. It’s a safe bet to bank on a return of the XVI, but the question is obviously the timing of the re-release. We’ve got detailed images of the Air Jordan XVI White/Midnight Navy unreleased sample below so take a look and check out the listing from oregonsole on eBay.

I love jordan brand, I collect mainly the 1-14 retros. especially 6,7,8,11,12,13 "the shoes he won his 6 championships with.. I was never a fan of the 16s because the patent leather toe box makes these shoes look like dress shoes or something.., more so on the black and red 16s.. I know these aint a patent leather toe on these shoes but they still dont look like right in my opinion. im not hating im just stating my opinion. the 16s are not a shoe I felt like I NEED in my collection.. 2013 is definitly gunna be a great year for us who love jordan/nike shoes. im very excited for 2013.

The patent leather toe-box makes these look 1000 times better. Hopefully when and if they do retro these, they come back in true OG form
