The ‘BHM’ inspiration is driven by the trio of Michael Jordan, Spike Lee, and Carmelo Anthony – all of whom were born in the borough of Brooklyn. With that said, the mix of Volt, Photo Blue, and Black is a direct tribute to the Brooklyn flag, with the Spiz’ike being the obvious Spike Lee leg of the trio. Do you see Jordan Brand continuing the Brooklyn inspiration now that Melo is likely to be a Knick for the rest of his career? ahhhhh now it all makes sense. i guess it all will work and im sure they'll sell out in most places.
so i googled the flag on brooklyn n now the colorways do make a little more sense the actual flag is more blue n yellow to me but i guess they didnt want people to think laney
