Vans has used the Sk8-Hi as the basis for experimentation on several occasions. One notable variation was the Native American that popped up sporadically in the early ’10s, whose Jazz Stripe-less deconstructed build is quite similar from what we’re seeing here today from the California collection. The Vans Califorina Sk8-Hi Binding features a suffix shared by the Native American a few years back, which in this current iteration results in a minimized but reinforced 10oz canvas upper with metal eyelets and boot laces that make these feel like Sk8s, Chucks and Red Wings all rolled into one. Have a closer look below and expect these at select retailers next month.
