“In the 1600s, they used the word ‘knickerbocker’, which is a Dutch word for shorts.”

Serious New York Knicks fans already know that their team’s curious name was inspired by the same Dutch pants that appear on the Big Apple’s flag. That’s where the team and MLB’s Mets took their color scheme as well, and it also influences this New Amsterdam tribute from one of Holland’s sneaker leaders. The Acht x Pony M-100 mixes denim and leather in those classic NYC colors, applying a co-branded tricolor to the box top that brings the concept together nicely. Check out some video from Acht after the jump along with photos of their M-100 basketball classics, and grab a pair today from Shelta.

^ Acht is a great shop. Very nice people run it. Their previous collab with Saucony was also a sleeper hit.

I got my pair in the mail today (straight from Acht) they are fire. Best high top (and most underrated) collab in a long time. Quality of the leather and denim is sick.  Sleeper hit FOR REAL.
