It’s been a crazy couple of weeks for both Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand at large. The former just turned 50, and the latter just released a ton of anticipated sneakers, retro and otherwise, in a pretty short timespan. The Air Jordan III ’88 retro shown here has to be where the excitement peaked. This pair actually pays tribute to MJ’s recent birthday with a red ’50’ hit on the sides, likely whipped up at one of the lasering stations down at the 2013 NBA All-Star weekend. Hit the jump to get the full preview of the Air Jordan III ’88 retro with the numbered treatment from DJ Clark Kent’s collection and tell us if you like the look in the comments.

50 isn't it good also for the score on the dunk contest win?

I like em. Wouldn't mind getting my pair lasered. Well, if I had a 2nd pair. Lol

Maybe my eyes are bad but the 50 on the sides look black to me not red.

these ninjas need to stop it!  -  i will say tho... after receiving my 88's in the mail and comparing them to my 2011 joints, 88's quality was slightly better than the  2011's.
