Li-Ning Way of Wade “Chicago” PE
February 21st, 2013 by John K. | 11 comments

Two offseasons ago, when perhaps the greatest free agency crop hit the town and teased NBA fans with potential future scenarios, Dwyane Wade’s return to Chicago, his hometown, was something that many basketball fans would’ve embraced. His style of play and physique is very much like Jordan’s and considering Wade was a Jordan Brand athlete at the time, it seemed to fit in perfectly. Of course that’s not how it all boiled down, with Wade choosing to stay in Miami while welcoming new teammates LeBron James and Chris Bosh, but Wade still have love for his hometown – as displayed by this Player Exclusive of his Li-Ning Way of Wade. It features the classic Bulls colorway of Black and Red with rap lyrics from Chicago native Kanye West labeled on the inner face of the tongue, and a special graphic of the Chicago Skyline lines the interior of the shoe. A detailed gallery is just below so take a look and watch D-Wade rock these tonight as the Heat take on the Bulls.

The sole needs some profile shaping (too flat like Air Force 1s). I like the idea of the quote on the tongue...I just hate Kanye West (and I'm from Chicago). I like the W formed by the laces near the toe box...nice creativity. I also like that Li-Ning downplayed their logo on the back, because I don't care for their logo design (and I'm sure DWade is happy about being one step closer to becoming a brand by himself). Nice kick, where can I pick it up?
@Small_Finite
Yea i agree there to flat.. but they coo.. im not even sure they sell them in america?
Anyone knows what the retail price for these ugly ass kicks?!
dope
Def trying to get some recognition. Really like the skyline on the soles. Quote sounds dumb to me tho
I guess I'd rock em if I was being paid $10m
You definitely can't knock the quality of the Li-Ning way of Wades. Look at that tumbled leather!
I've found myself falling for this shoe. I still have a hard time seeing past that god awful protruding triangle on the side panel. If a logo was there, I think we'd have a winner. Nonetheless its growing on me. Great Ye quote inside the tongue to enforce the Chicago theme.
Is the triangle really any worse than the "peek-a-boo" port hole in the Jordan 2010 that they made Wade sport? I wonder if some are being hyper-critical just because Li-Ning is a relative unknown, and we're all so quick to bless anything JB does because of their historic designs/popularity.
@Small_Finite I never argued that Wades tenure with JB was better. If anything, the Converse Wade 1 was the best out everything we've seen.
Not even the Bred colorway can save these Frankenstein boots...
