Time certainly has passed, but the memories of the tragedy of the Sandy Hook shootings still remain in our heavy hearts. The outpour of support in response to the events displayed the rock-solid resolve in the community and across the nation, and the NBA did its part to remember the victims by way of pre-game ceremonies in remembrance of those affected by the events. LeBron James was among the many players who scribbled messages of hope and support on sneakers, and it appears he kept the shoes locked away safely be cause he just announced that his LeBron James Family Foundation will auction off the game-worn pair he donned during his first game since the events – with all proceeds going to the Newtown victims and their families. We’ll keep you updated when this charity auction goes live, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for updates and check out an in-game shot of LeBron wearing the shoes just below.
