No glove – no love. Later this year, there will be plenty of love at Gary Payton’s signature line comes back to life as part of the next Nike Retro revisiting of the 90s. Utilizing the shroud and monkey-paw technology (two ideas used in the Air Jordan XX8 and other contemporary models), this icon of late 90’s Nike Hoops will indeed return with perfect timing, considering the Reebok Kamikaze II has been such a success. The original colorway of the Nike Zoom Flight ’98 will hit stores, but what else can we expect? A first look at this highly anticipated release is just below, so take a look and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more info.
Nike Zoom Flight ’98 Retro
My question is why the hell did they screw up on the Nike Air Shake NDestrukts? Those were fresher than the Gloves.
If nike dropped these and the 28's in the same cw with the ice soles. Id cop these hands down. same price or not.
Stolen or not, the technology in the XX28 is much better and more advanced then the glove from the late 90s! People are always going to bitch but place a pair of these and a pair of XX28 and I'm taking the XX28 ALL DAY!!!!
From what I heard they were suppose to dropped in Jan or Feb., but do to tinker stealing the concept from these( in my opinion and the gloves look way much better)and dropping them about the same time they push these back cause we know the jordan name is bigger than GP. Definitely ready to cop the black and white pair again.
Aaaaaaaaaaah shit.... DA GLOVES AREBACK.... ITS GOIN DOWN YALL... need 2 pair.... and its ABOUT DAMM TIME
100% ditto that. Want those so bad, but I'll take these as an appetizer
@JackSpain Who cares about the tech unless you're hooping in them? These look way better and that's what I want them for.
@JackSpain True, but you can get modern technology and keep $150 in your pocket by avoiding the XXVIII.
@22hype You know Tinker designed the gloves too right?
@jwjumpman736 The same person designed both
@Ryder1129 The same person designed both.
@Larry_Legend hell yea i cant wait til these drop
If you can ball? You can ball in anything. In the game where my Lakers came back and stunned Toronto the other night, Rudy Gay was wearin the black cement 3s, Amir Johnson had on banned 1s, Alan Anderson had on the raptor 7s, and I forget what DeMar DeRozan was wearin, but he always wears some retro Js. The point is, technology helps with comfort, but its not gonna make joe shmoe whos 5'7 be able to dunk. Speed, handles, jumpshooting, vertical jumping ability, lateral quickness, and upper body strength have absolutely NOTHING to do with the shoes you have on. I mean Rasheed Wallace regularly played in Air Force 1s!!! Tech is great JackSpain, but you won't be any better in the jordan XX8s than you will be in the gloves.
@Ryder1129 you're right but the question is how modern will the technology be. I've purchased plenty of retro Nike Basketball sneakers and it seems as if the technology hasn't changed in most of them!!!
@Da_Real_Big_Infinite OK, y'all got me there. I'd never try to front as a some designer historian. Specifically, Tinker should feel guilty about getting paid for the XXVIII. I realize it it blasphemy to bring up Tinker but lazy design is lazy design on the XXVIII. I bought the "OG" Royals in 1986 with paper route money so I'm old, salty and entitled to my opinion.
@MartinD44 @Gusto I feel you @MartinD44 on all of that and growing up when I was playing bball, i played in everything until I bought my first pair of LWP in the 8th grade. Every since then, I've balled in the Air Ups, KGs Flightposite (with the zipper) the first Shox, so on and so forth! Tech means alot to me when I'm balling because I need comfortability out there on the court! Now, these players that are ballin in the retries, I can almost guarantee you their feet are killin them after the game and we know they wear retroes because almost all are trying to win the "Kicks on Court" battle!!! Hell even Lebron is changing shoes at halftime
@JackSpain Was not referring to retros and modern technology. More like readily availble Hyperdunks for $100. Anyway, no arguments here. I fully concede I'm a XXVIII hater. Not good enough to notice the difference at my level of play or lack thereof.
@Da_Real_Big_Infinite You're right. I'm just bitter. AJ I through XIII releases were second only to Christmas every year. JB took away Christmas man! It is fun following kicks again with my son though.
@Ryder1129 I feel u bro... but like most things, everythin gets recycled wit an added spin to it... So I hear wat u sayin on bein lazy... but if u remember da ol Kevin Garnett flightposites, they also have a similar look to da xx8 s also
