The iconic Staple Pigeon has indeed made its way on a pair of New Balances before when Jeff Staple paired with the brand to create a limited-edition run of the New Balance 575 “Pigeon” several years back and even the 577 more recently in 2012. Sneaker Customizer Zhijun Wang aka ZJDesign gave the New Balance Pigeon a bit of a revival with this amazing custom work, using the New Balance 1600 as the base and crafting an incredible heel-shroud shaped after a pigeon, with additional Staple Pigeon detailing on the tongue and the heel. ZJDesign calls this the first of an “Animal Pack” he’s working on, so we’re definitely excited to see what else he’s got in store! Check out the feature video and detailed gallery below and let us know what you think!
