Nike Updates Twitter RSVP System
There’s been talk for a while now across online avenues suggesting that the Twitter RSVP system Nike doors across the country are using for big ticket releases is a fairly flawed approach. Hit up any message board and you’ll seem someone boasting about whipping up a bot to essentially cheat the process and lock in their DM faster than any human could. As a response Nike has revamped the process just a bit. Now, instead of Tweeting out the hashtag to be used, your local Nike spot will Tweet out an image that includes the necessary hashtag circled (All previous rules regarding Twitter RSVP will remain the same). Think of it as sort of a captcha for sneaker releases. Check out this example from Nike Portland and tell us if you think this new policy will make shoes a little bit more accessible for the layman.
why not instead of worrying about a miniscule problem, make more pairs and distribute more pairs, problem solved
I like that they are doing something about the bots. I'm sure it became a concern once people began selling their services. My only question: What if the site containing the photo crashes?
I was just fine with bots, Nike only started caring when people begin to sell the service. I hope they hack this system as well.
maybe, if nike wants it to be more fair they should just, i dunno make better general releases so that people actually want those too
the whole twitter rsvp idea is dumb anyways. Not everybody has or wants a twitter account. Just produce more shoes and everything will be solved
The hackers already got bots to test against this new system already...bots will be dominating shortly again...back to the drawing board Nike
I disliked the process already, but this is like some I spy shit lol. It'll still be rigged for the most part. I'm good sticking with my online prowess
