Following on the tremendous success of 1987’s Air Trainer 1, Nike followed with a washing machine-ready version, a sequel in the Air Trainer III (née SC) and the strapless version pictured above. The Nike Air Trainer ’88 is the low to the OG AT1’s mid, a strapless take on Tinker Hatfield’s bold multisport design that’s been remade in suede and mesh for casual purposes. This Hyper Blue makeup is a solid reintroduction, so stick with Sneaker News to see which colorways follow and grab the first Air Trainer ’88 at NSW retailers like Oneness.
